A French band who pay homage to their native hometown may seem unlikely to flourish within the realms of Celtic music. However, Doolin defy these odds, and the result is astounding.
Throughout their second album, ‘Circus Boy’, Irish musicianship lies at the forefront, incorporating the remarkable fiddle work of Niamh Gallagher and Niall Murphy, as well as internally within the band, through their founding member Guilhem Cavaillé.
Alongside the introduction of piano, drums and bass, all of which are new to the band, a modern, unique Celtic sound is produced. The result? A powerful and musical vision which has poised Doolin to take their career to a new level.
