Cruel, a rock opera written by Romanian musician Tibor Molnar, recently received a rapturous reception in his homeland and is now scheduled to appear in London. Featuring a string quartet, Wurlitzer organ, full rock band AND four vocalists, it does rather put in the shade other shows which purport to the rock opera mantle. Likewise, the plot seems appropriately heavy duty, dealing with infidelity, God, and a possibly shady priest. We’re in! The show is at London’s Troxy on Tuesday 22nd October.
