So it’s that time of year, when the radio starts to constantly play those Christmas songs, love them or hate them they’re coming our way! But that doesn’t mean to say that we can’t think about other songs we’d like to hear and indeed the songs our dogs may love or the dog songs we dog lovers enjoy!
It is a question we have all asked ourselves when we pop out – should we leave the radio on for our dogs? Can they even notice music? Well the overall answer is yes – dogs do like music and it seems they can also even be emotionally affected by it. Of course calmer music is more relaxing than the average AC/DC track as, dogs ears are very much more sensitive than ours, with the theory that classical music is the most calming for them.
On that musical note we at Yellow Dog thought this would be a great time to list our Top Ten Dog Songs- there are some classics out there and now is as good a time as any to enjoy them.
- Patti Page – How Much is That Doggie in the Window – probably the most famous dog song that we all know! Released in 1953 it was an instant hit!
- Yusuf/Cat Stevens – I Love My Dog – this song was the first UK hit for Cat Stevens
