The international artist collective, UBU, has released a new album titled UBU as a tribute to their late founding member, Marco Trinchillo. This eleven-track project, which is set to be released on April 28th, 2023, brings together a diverse group of talented artists who have all been touched by Trinchillo’s visionary leadership and influence.
Created as a platform for artists from all backgrounds to collaborate and create under, UBU was initially founded by Trinchillo and his bandmate, Mattia Mercuriali, as a side project to their band, Amycanbe. The duo’s success with their music, which included acclaimed albums, EPs, and sync deals in film and TV, led them to explore new avenues and experiment with other musicians, thus giving birth to UBU.
Over the course of two years, UBU, along with producer Franco Naddei, worked tirelessly on the self-titled album at ‘L’Amor Mio Non Muore’ studio in Forli, Italy. However, just before the album’s completion, tragedy struck when Trinchillo passed away at the young age of 41 due to cardiac arrest. The album, which was originally meant to showcase the collaborative efforts of UBU’s talented roster of artists, has now turned into a tribute to the late musician whose influence is deeply felt throughout the record. Trinchillo’s passion for music, along with his skills as a self-taught drummer and photographer, continues to inspire a new generation of artists.
